Testimonials

Just look what our happy members have to say:

Dr Andy, Dr Joe and his wife, Regan, are certified instructors who take time out of their busy schedules to lead the workouts. I personally joined the gym on October 23, 2008. I have been inspired by them, along with nine others who are members of my family, friends and employees. Since joining, I am much stronger, feel better and have lost 15 pounds without dieting. I am type 2 diabetic and have been able to cut my Lantus (insulin) from a high of 92 units to 40. My Hemoglobin A1C on December 22, 2008 dropped to a 6.7 from a 7.9 after only 2 months of following their workouts. I no longer have pain in my legs nor do my ankles swell, which I attribute to better circulation from these workouts. I am confident my health will continue to improve.

I have been seeing Dr. Joe Arreola for over a year with chronic lower back and hip pain.  He started educating me about certain exercises and kettlebells.  I joined Punch Gym in October, and am now pain free!  I never thought this was possible.  Being pain free is life changing, but the added benefits have been increased energy and strength, improved bone density, and overall better health.  Even my third grade students have noticed a difference!!

I celebrated my 62nd birthday in January.  Two years ago I never imagined that the quality of my life could be so much better.  My Kettlebell program continues to be 3-4 days per week.  It gives me better health, improved stamina, and stress relief.  There are so many more things that I am able to do faster, better, and with less effort.  Life is now a wonderful gift.  I am grateful for the Kettlebell Gym and all the instructors have given me!

After attending 6 months of Punch Gym classes 3-4 times a week, spring came and it was time for yard work.
I spent 3 hours one day loading a wheel barrow with sod rolls and pushing it up a hill.  After unloading, unrolling and placing the sod, I reloaded the wheel barrow with landscape bricks and pushed it back down the hill.  When I had the bricks in place, I started the cycle again.
It didn't hit me until the next day that I was not sore at all.  The strength that I have built is something that positively affects every day of my life.

Since I've started Punch Kettlebell Classes, I've gained strength and mobility in many areas of my body.  I've found that my clothes fit better and I have more energy.  Others have taken notice, which makes me feel more confident!

I started working out at Punch Gym in late May of 2009.  I had just finished my second marathon in Madison the week prior with a time of 4:51 and my third half marathon in April with a time of 1:59.  I have been a runner for roughly three years, but was always a little intimidated of weight rooms and any exercise that wasn't strictly cardio-based.

I admit to some initial skepticism about the kettlebell routine.  However, I quickly learned that the workouts are intense and challenging.  I am more fatigued after a kettlebell workout than after some of my more substantial training runs.  The workouts engage my entire body and in the four months that I have been attending classes (approximately 2-3 times per week) my running form has improved drastically as well as how I feel while running.  My posture is better, my muscles are stronger, I am faster and I recover quickly from long runs.

The real proof is in the difference in my race times.  On August 29, 2009, I ran another half marathon and improved my time to 1:52, a difference of seven minutes!  I felt fantastic after that race and recovered nicely.  On September 27, 2009, I ran my third marathon and finished with a time of 4:26.  I was amazed that in four months, I had cut twenty-five minutes off of my full marathon time.  I did not train any differently, my long run distances were the same and my nutrition was the same, what made the difference was working out at Punch Gym!  While I may never finish a marathon at the head of the pack, I look forward to continuing my workouts at Punch Gym and improving my race times!
